Rudi's Chocolate Sauce was conceived and served at my younger brother's Swiss restaurant in New Milford, Ct.   Rudi’s, the restaurant,  served this product for 25 years as the signature dessert item.  While I worked for Forbes magazine, selling advertising, I gave the chocolate to my clients, as a thank you and to Forbes staff to thank them for their help and assistance with my customers.  All in all, I gave away 1,000 jars per year. 

My customers and fellow workers fell in love with the chocolate.  Steve Forbes was one the biggest fans of Rudi's Chocolate Sauce.  After I would drop off a few jars of chocolate at Steve's office, Steve would find the time to travel the 5 floors to my office to thank me.  Steve was such a lover of Rudi's he offered to be an investor.

I started out small and in my home town.  Over the Holiday season of 2006, my brother and I sold 500 jars of Rudi’s in our home town of New Canaan, Ct, at our friend's store, Design Solutions.

Everyone who tries Rudi’s, loves it.  Can’t get enough. 

One customer on the Upper East side of Manhattan , bought some for his wife.   Over the weekend, the couple got into a squabble over the chocolate.  His wife claimed it was her present and didn't want to share the chocolate.  They chased each other around the apartment, while eating Rudi’s chocolate. Finally, the wife placed the chocolate on the window ledge, so her husband could not find the chocolate and eat it all by himself. 

Another, Manhattan customer came home late on a Friday night with her three roommates and headed right to the refrigerator for Rudi’s.  The cork was stuck in the jar and they could not get it out; so, they took a hammer and broke the glass jar.  Shards of glass did not prevent them from savoring Rudi's chocolate.  They removed the glass shards and ate their chocolate sauce
